McGillivray Land & Livestock Ltd. is committed to following BC Provincial Health Guidelines and WorkSafe BC Regulations regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. COVID-19 is a virus that can cause symptoms including fever, cough, sneezing, sore throat and difficulty breathing and can lead to serious disease that may require hospitalization and can cause death. COVID-19 is transmitted by breathing in air droplets containing the virus shed by infected persons, and by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your face, mouth or food. COVID-19 can also be transmitted by people who are not displaying symptoms of the disease.
McGillivray Land & Livestock Ltd. has developed and shared a written COVID-19 Safety Plan with our workers. We have made adjustments to our operation to help limit the risk of COVID-19 exposure. We are limiting contact with people, refraining from physical contact and hand shaking, and maintaining 2 meter physical distancing. In situations where physical distancing can’t be maintained, face masks are worn. Sharing of work vehicles, equipment and common work areas is limited and surface cleaning and disinfecting procedures are used if vehicles and equipment are used by more than one worker. Workers self assess their health status daily, and if they are ill, asked to follow BC Provincial Health Regulations. McGillivray Land & Livestock Ltd recognizes under WorkSafe BC legislation that all workers have the right to refuse work if they feel an aspect of their workplace is likely to endanger their health or safety. Employees who fear exposure to COVID-19 in their workplace may refuse work in reference to this legislation. We are hopeful that the we can provide a safe environment for our employees.
