About us
McGillivray Livestock is a family owned and operated cattle ranch 10km south of Kamloops BC. The company was established in 1999 after Susan bought Jason two purebred straight Canadian Angus females from Sealin Creek Ranch. From there we have continued to expand our purebred herd and in 2011 we took over Susan's family's ranch, Jocko Creek Ranch, which was established in 1903.
Susan and Jason keep busy, both working as veterinarians as well as operating the ranch. Meghan, Matt and Amanda each have their own small herds of cattle that are managed with the family ranch and are each involved in different parts of our family business.
Currently we are running 180 purebred black Angus cows with a strong Canadian genetic base and a complete herd health program. The goal of our program is to produce structurally sound cattle with a balance of calving ease, maternal traits and performance. We aim to produce cattle that thrive in BC's terrain and graze for 260 days of the year. Our bulls are sold as yearlings by private treaty off the ranch with females available for purchase upon request. To learn more about our purebred herd click here!
In addition to our purebred herd, we also manage a commercial herd of approximately 120 angus cross cows. We have steer and heifer calf packages available in the Fall. To learn more about our commercial herd click here!
